KEC is working on a power sub-station. The power is supposed to be restored by 4PM today. The areas without power are: #1 Worley Tower T574 (note – we are running on the generator right now at the tower) Power went out at 12:45 today All customers who connect directly to the T574 tower should still be working – providing they have power. #2 Elder & Rew (Tom’s home). No automatic backup generator there. Power went out at 11:15 AM today. Any customers who connect to my AP are down. #3 Cave Bay power went out at 11:10 AM Any customers who connect to the Cave Bay APs are down. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 12/07/2007 (Friday) #1 - Today we tested and verified the new Plummer-Butte generator is functional. To perform the test we simulated a power outtage. The generator operated normal. #2 We now offer free WiFi (wireless) Internet access in our free public technology center. Tom Jones Red-Spectrum Communications Broadband Operations Manager - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 12/03/2007 (Monday) - Around 12 noon today, our Mica-Peak (white radar dome) access-point stopped functioning. >This outage affected all customers which connect to the radar-dome Mica-Peak radio. >This outage also affected all customers which connect to the Fairfield water tank radio. >This outage also affected all customers which connected to the Elder-Rew radio. We arrived on site at the Mica-Peak tower and found a broken antenna cable. An antenna part from another nearby tower had come off and blown into our antenna. The cable on our radio broke. We replaced the broken parts on radio and restored customer connections around 3:30 PM Tom Jones Red-Spectrum Communications Broadband Operations Manager - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 09/27/2007 - We are currently replacing our backup generator at the Plummer-Butte microwave tower. Note - At this time, the Plummer-Butte generator is non-functional due to a lightning strike which blew out the backup generator. We still have UPS battery backup power which should last close to one hour if the power goes out at the Plummer-Butte tower. - We are currently replacing our backup generator at the Plummer NOC Technology Center. Both replacement generators (and the Worley tower generator) are designed to operate a full week in the event of a major power outtage. At this time, we have no planned outages during our generator replacements. If we have a planned outage, the information will be posted here.
